The Wrigley Mansion is honored to pay tribute to its owner, Geordie Hormel who passed away on February 12, 2006. Although Geordie was the child of a prominent American family, heir to the Hormel meat-packing Foods Corporation, and had fame and fortune that most of us can only imagine, to the staff of The Wrigley Mansion he was simply "Geordie". Geordie was well known for his philanthropic endeavors and charitable contributions throughout the state. He was an accomplished artist and musician who loved playing piano for the guests each Sunday in his unique and always entertaining style. He was a man of character, wit and charm and he loved The Wrigley Mansion. Geordie believed that when guests walked in the door of this opulent place, they should be treated with the utmost respect, service and class. In his words, "that anyone should expect when being a guest at someone's establishment." Today some might consider this an "old-school" philosophy, but The Wrigley staff considers it routine. Geordie purchased The Mansion in 1992 and has restored and maintained the property to its original splendor. His legacy lives on with his wife, Jamie, while maintaining the dignity and elegance of the era in which the mansion was built, brings a fresh contemporary approach to the ambiance and dining experience. The newest addition of Geordie's Lounge was named in honor of the man who believed in The Wrigley's success when those around him thought it was not worth it. The Wrigley Mansion staff will continue to work hard and prove to those who didn't think he could...that he has!
